This movie is the third part of the Lokesh Cinematic Universe. It takes inspiration from a 2005 movie called “A History of Violence,” which is based on a graphic novel with the same name. The story is about Parthi, who runs a café and rescues animals in Theog. He is chased by gangsters named Antony and Harold Das, who believe he might be Antony’s long-lost son, Leo.

Leo hit theaters on October 19, 2023, in both standard and IMAX versions. Critics had mixed opinions about it. However, it made quite an impact at the box office, breaking several records for a Tamil movie and becoming the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023.

Thalapathy Vijay’s action-packed movie, “Leo,” had a strong showing in cinemas during its first six days. However, as the celebrations for Durga Puja, Navratri, and Dussehra came to an end, the film began to exhibit signs of a slowdown. According to the industry tracker on the seventh day, “Leo” garnered 14.47 crore rupees, which was a 55.75% drop compared to its earnings on the sixth day. The eighth day saw a further decline, with earnings of just 11 crore rupees.

After being in theaters for eight days, the film “Leo” has collected approximately Rs 275.27 crore in earnings. As of Thursday afternoon, the overall audience occupancy for the Tamil version of the movie was reported to be 22.01%. The film’s producers claim that it has achieved a global collection of over Rs 500 crore within just six days of its release. However, it is still more than Rs 100 crore away from Rajinikanth’s movie “Jailer,” which earned Rs 604 crore worldwide.

Leo, featuring Sanjay Dutt, Trisha Krishnan, and Arjun Sarja, still has the potential to set new box office records. It’s now in its second week, and there are no significant movie releases in the near future. The outcome of the upcoming weekend will determine the movie’s success.
